Edutech implements solution in Oman schools
 -  Tuesday, December 19 2006

ASF Karim, Managing Director of EDUTECH
Edutech Middle East has announced that an additional 90 schools in the Sultanate of Oman will be equipped with EDUTECH’s learning solutions by the end of this year, taking the tally of schools using these solutions to over 590.

This follows the Oman Ministry of Education’s (MoE) vision to introduce children to technology by integrating it with all areas of learning to help them hone essential 21st century skills through optimum use of technology.

The total value of the EDUTECH solutions being implemented in the 90 schools is more than AED 0.9m. In the last five years, the Ministry of Education has invested in EDUTECH solutions worth approximately AED 3 million.

His Excellency Yahya Bin Saud Bin Mansour, Minister of Education, Oman, said, “The Ministry of Education has been committed to introducing innovative education techniques across schools in the country, with an aim to create a whole new learning experience for students while diverging from the norms of traditional classroom education. EDUTECH’s learning solutions have best-suited our requirements as it accommodates a child-centered teaching mode that allows students to use creativity for enhancing knowledge. Our association with EDUTECH has been a long and fruitful one and we look forward to this partnership as we bring in more and more schools under the wings of technology.”

“Today’s knowledge based economy is witnessing a paradigm shift in skills and abilities that students require to build a successful career in a competitive work environment. Our solutions are designed keeping in line with these changes and address specific educational needs of the children. We have also arabised some of the software to be used in certain schools,” said ASF Karim, Managing Director of EDUTECH.

In the last five years, EDUTECH has implemented various solutions in Oman’s schools that help students experience real-life art media while working on projects, backgrounds and animation. The internet-based functions, enhanced sound, drag-and-drop development and the integrated media library browser make EDUTECH’s solutions easy to use even for beginners.

EDUTECH’s solutions are also known for their techniques of visual learning that strengthen critical thinking and comprehension of students. The cutting-edge innovation of EDUTECH’s solutions can be gauged from the educational computing capabilities of some of its products which allow students from the same room or from anywhere in the world to share their knowledge and expertise as they build projects on the internet.
