Red Hat has announced the expansion of its international presence with the opening of an office in Dubai. The new office will provide support for its growing customer base in the Middle East and Africa and enable Red Hat to leverage experts with local knowledge to meet new business demands in the region.

Red Hat has a great reputation for delivering market-leading open source solutions and the launch of the new office in Dubai will help us meet the growing demand for Red Hat solutions in the region. I look forward to meeting with our clients and partners and helping to expand Red Hat's growing client base

To further strengthen its reach, Red Hat has appointed Anuj Kumar as general manager, Middle East and Africa. Kumar is a ten-year veteran with Red Hat and previously held responsibility for sales and marketing for enterprise customers. He also helped establish Red Hat offices in Chicago, Dallas and Denver.

Red Hat's client base in the Middle East and Africa encompasses industries such as telecommunications, banking, government and the oil and gas sectors. Existing customers in the region include the recently announced Bank PHB in Nigeria and Arabtec, the leading construction company in the United Arab Emirates.

"Red Hat has a great reputation for delivering market-leading open source solutions and the launch of the new office in Dubai will help us meet the growing demand for Red Hat solutions in the region," stated Kumar. "I look forward to meeting with our clients and partners and helping to expand Red Hat's growing client base."

To meet the growing demand for its virtualization and Service Oriented Architecture (SOA) solutions, Red Hat is hosting a series of virtualization partner workshops in the Middle East and Africa. The first workshop takes place in Casablanca on November 12, 2008, and will be followed by events in Dubai, Cairo, Istanbul and Riyadh.
