NETGEAR inks partnership with Redington Gulf
RESELLER WORLD MIDDLE EAST -  Tuesday, May 12 2009

Partnership in line with NETGEAR’s aim to increase Middle East market share by 30 %

NETGEAR has signed a distribution agreement with Redington Gulf, a leading IT distributor in the Middle East and Africa. Company officials also revealed that the partnership is in line with NETGEAR’s aims to increase its market share by 30 % in the Middle East by focusing on expanding the reach of its networking and storage products for the small and medium business (SMB) sector.

Redington Gulf’s vast network of channel partners and its experience and association with global brands in many countries in addition to its 35 service centres are some of the factors that prompted NETGEAR to partner with the IT distributor. To maximise the outcome of its strategic partnership, NETGEAR is conducting a unique training program for all Redington Gulf channel partners in the Middle East, with the first leg held recently in Dubai at the Jumeirah Emirates Towers and the next event to be conducted in Saudi Arabia later this month.

The SMB market represents almost 50 per cent of our overall market and this is where Redington Gulf will make a difference to NETGEAR’s business. By combining the strength of their products, which incorporate unique features at a competitive price, and our access to the right channel and the right model, we will be able to help them gain an even more prominent position in this market

“At present, we do not offer networking products for the SMB channel within the key markets of the UAE and Saudi Arabia, and this partnership with NETGEAR is a huge opportunity for us to address the demand of our current channel base to gain access to these product lines,” said Ramkumar B., General Manager, Value Business, Redington Gulf. “The SMB market represents almost 50 per cent of our overall market and this is where Redington Gulf will make a difference to NETGEAR’s business. By combining the strength of their products, which incorporate unique features at a competitive price, and our access to the right channel and the right model, we will be able to help them gain an even more prominent position in this market.”

Under the terms of the agreement, Redington Gulf will handle NETGEAR’s complete ReadyNAS portfolio of affordable, scalable, shareable, expandable, and fail-safe network storage products, as well as networking switches - from high-performing wire-speed Layer 3 managed switches, to entry-level managed Smart Switches, to plug-and-play unmanaged switches for the SMB market. Furthermore, Redington Gulf will also manage the distribution of the company’s Ethernet networking, broadband and wireless networking segments, including adapters, wired and wireless routers and gateways.

“We have identified the potential of partnering with a leading distributor such as Redington Gulf, whose commitment and high quality innovative and personalised service to its customers is clearly underlined by its achievements in the regional IT distribution circuit. We hope to leverage their ‘in-country’ presence to promptly address customer requirements quickly and efficiently, and we are anticipating the positive results of growth and expansion within the market to stem from this partnership,” concluded Ahmad Zeidan, Channel Sales Manager, NETGEAR Middle East.

NETGEAR offers networking, storage and security products catering to the needs of small and medium businesses. The company’s solutions are backed by a lifetime warranty and 24/7 technical support. Redington Gulf’s CRM team will focus on communicating this message to customers and ensure the highest level of customer satisfaction in the most transparent manner.
