Adding on to the current list of strategic vendors including Cisco, Microsoft and Intel, the new relationship with HP is expected to attract reseller interest as Logicom becomes a “one-stop shop” for global, industry-standard IT brands. The inclusion of HP products will also help Logicom widen their channel breadth as they reach out to new market segments and customers.
With a growing retail division in place, the tie-up with HP is expected to further strengthen Logicom’s retail offerings, especially in relation to the sale of PCs, laptops and servers for small and medium businesses, as well as enterprise. Again, the presence of a complete portfolio of international IT brands will aid Logicom in adding value to the retail channel as a comprehensive, end-to-end IT distributor.
Speaking on the landmark agreement, Nicholas Argyrides, General Manager, Logicom Gulf said: “Partnering with prominent leaders such as HP clearly indicates Logicom’s business focus and commitment to the channel. While the relationship brings additional responsibilities in terms of resources and financial investments to the region, it certainly shows that challenging times can provide ample opportunities for new business relationships.”
“As we expand the product portfolio, our top priority at a group level is to safely and profitably guide the company to protect and strengthen all stakeholder relationships. With HP, our aim for the first year is to establish a solid market presence and build on our existing channel capabilities,” added Michael Papaeracleous, Executive Director of Distribution for Logicom Group.
Commenting on the tie up, Anil Kumar, General Manager, Personal Systems Group, HP Middle East said: 'We are delighted to extend our relationship with Logicom to the Middle East. With the enhanced HP Preferred Partner Program, we continue our efforts in expanding our breadth of partners in the different geographies we operate with more emphasis on specialization to provide value and satisfaction to our customers.”
The distribution agreement is an extension of Logicom’s engagement with HP in Europe. Given Logicom’s excellent track record in the Middle East over the last 10 years, it was a natural choice for both parties to partner in the region.
